Badminton Venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics


Badminton will be celebrating its 20th anniversary as an official sport of the Olympic medal during the 2012 Games in London. After a long odyssey from being a demonstration sport at the 1972 Munich Games, badminton, finally became a medal competition at the Olympic Games of Barcelona 1992.
 
 
This year, in London, badminton events will be held at Wembley Arena and world-renowned historical, it really was last used in the Olympics for swimming competitions in the 1948 London Games. While the Wembley Arena no longer has a pool, which has hosted live performances by famous artists and sporting events in the 62 years since the last time the London Olympics. For fast-moving game of badminton, the second largest single indoor stadium in the Olympic Games in 2012 will be an ideal location. The site is organized as a large horseshoe around the competition area, based at different levels above the "U" shaped perimeter, leaving the other end of the open field, not behind it.

Wembley Arena will also host the popular sport of rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games in 2012.
